Nishikigoi 錦鯉

Koi, or nishikigoi (錦鯉) as called in Japanese, is referring to a domestic cultivated carp bred. With several patterns and color variations they can be found in many of the traditional Japanese gardens. Culturally, they are more than beautiful swimming creatures – one could say, that they have become a symbol of many years of traditions that represent Japan as a place deeply rooted to art and creativity.
